PLEASANTVILLE URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE

Business Development Loans: lower interest loans for acquisition, demolition, construction, equipment and other qualified uses blended with participating commercial lenders. For larger projects, added financial benefits with the NJ Economic Development Authority. Micro loans from $2,000 available for the smaller projects.

Relocation Assistance: can be in the form of loans or recoverable grants, usually for capital improvements to buildings or for relocation (moving) expenses, renovations or alterations.

Infrastructure Improvements: can be loans or recoverable grants for road or utility access to a site or site preparation.

Brownfields Remediation: can include technical assistance in site investigations, negotiating No Further Action agreements with state agencies, grant or loan funding for clean up of contaminated sites.

Regular UEZ Benefits: use tax exemptions and unemployment insurance reductions. Corporate tax incentives for non-retailers. For retailers, 50% off the prevailing sales tax rate for your customers.

Business Employment Incentives: including the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development's free assistance in employee job fair and application processing, on-the-job or customized training grants, processing federal work Opportunity Tax Credits up to $2,400 for each qualified employee.

Local Property Tax Abatement: a five-year abatement for qualified commercial and industrial projects.

Marketing Assistance: technical assistance and/or funding for advertising, marketing and public relations to promote the project or business.

Feasibility/Market Studies: technical assistance and/or funding for applicable studies from the local UEZ and/or state EDA.
