The Fire Bureau of the Pleasantville Fire Department has the responsibility of Fire Inspections, Fire Prevention and Fire Investigations.
Required Inspections:
All businesses, Life Hazard Use and Non-Life Hazard Use, shall be inspected periodically for compliance with the provisions of the Uniform Fire Code.
Life Hazard Use:
The premises and uses identified as Life Hazard Uses will have a state registration form submitted to them. This must be completed and returned to the local enforcing agency within 30 days. Fees are set under the guidelines set in the Uniform Fire Code. SEE: Sections 5:70-2.4, 5:70-2.5 and 5:70=2.6 of the Uniform Fire Code.
Non-Life Hazard Use:
The premises and uses identified as Non-Life Hazard Uses are subject to an annual inspection fee. SEE: City Ordinance Number 32-2002.
Permits Required:
Permits shall be required and obtained from the local enforcement agency for activities specified in this section. SEE: 5:70-2.7 of the Uniform Fire Code.
