East Coast Gaming Congress 2009

(from l-r) Mayor Jesse L. Tweedle, Sr., Jacqueline Amado Belton, UEZ Economic Development Representative, and Roger B. Tees, Director, Economic and Industrial Development, converse with Nancy Watson, CFO of the NJ Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. The Mayor and Urban Enterprise Zone officials manned the UEZ trade show display May 19 at the East Coast Gaming Congress in Atlantic City. Hundreds of people from the casino industry, state, county and local governments and the private sector attended to learn more about the state of the casino industry and the future for Atlantic City. Pleasantville’s Urban Enterprise Zone is marketing the City as an ideal location for casino services companies. New Jersey casinos spend about $2-billion a year on goods and services and Pleasantville’s UEZ retailers can sell their products to casinos with a 50% reduction in the state sales tax.
